Every world begins from a song
The Alchemy Behind the Filidh
Vaeldom was not written. It was alchemised. Piece by piece, vision by vision, across years of healing trauma, shadow work and understanding my neuroqueer mind, this story encapsulates all of me. I am the Alchemical Filidh — the human artist, the Anam, the keeper of the Chronicles. This world is not a product. It is a practice. A living act of creation built by human hands, with human intention, and offered to those who feel the same frequency.
Every story begins from a soul
The Filidh Behind the Alchemy
Vaeldom was born from a need to tell a truth too large for the everyday world. A universe where the ancient art of the Filidh — the bard, the keeper of memory — lives on through every Wayfinder who chooses to walk these roads. This is not just a fantasy world. It is a frequency. The B.R.A.I.D.S. series exists to ensure my neuroqueer human experience is chronicled with authenticity, truth and sovereignty in an age where that has become a radical act.
The Meaning of the Braid
From Gaelic Roots to Alchemical Magic
To understand the world of Vaeldom, you must first understand the name behind the hand that writes it. I do not write as a novelist sitting at a clinical desk; I write as The Alchemical Filidh. In the ancient, fire-lit history of Gaelic culture, a Filidh (pronounced feela) was far more than a simple bard or entertainer. They were the warrior-poets, the sacred philosophers, the historians, and the storytellers of the tribes. They were the keepers of the cultural lineage, tasked with carrying the memories, the struggles, and the triumphs of their people through the unyielding power of the spoken word.
The Raw Matter (Own Voices)
Intertwining Identity & Neurodivergence
My journey as a writer is not born of prestigious writing institutions or polished academic degrees; it is carved entirely out of raw, genuine, lived experience. The roots of who I am are inextricably braided into the very fabric of Vaeldom, its magic, and the characters who walk its roads. For a long time, I viewed my mind as a faulty clockwork machine, constantly spinning out of sync with the neat, orderly world around me. But in the alchemy of creation, I found a revolutionary truth: our differences are not deficits; they are cosmic frequencies.
