This short story is the Soul-Seed of my entire universe. I created the B.R.A.I.D.S. system by weaving my lived experience, my research, my neurodivergence, and my shadow work into the soulful storytelling of this epic fantasy series. I have realised my path as an Alchemical Filidh: A Warrior-Poet who has faced the shadows and emerged with a calling to share light, love, and magic.
The Logic of B.R.A.I.D.S. Set in the melodious world of Vaeldom, this "Own Voices" adventure reimagines neurodivergent processing—what many in our world call a burden—as a profound Cosmic Necessity. We meet 14-year-old Ruimieà during the season of Athbreith, a time for honouring ancestors by weaving songs of birth and new beginnings. While his people dance in rhythm with the Vael, Ruimi feels the crushing weight of a racing mind and internal unworthiness. But when a harrowing scream echoing from the woods distorts reality, he triggers a Violet Kaleidoscope vision and steps forward into the dark to do what he must: help others.

The Meaning Behind Being a Wayfinder: Ruimieà’s journey mirrors our own. He begins feeling “unworthy,” burdened by a mind that races without pause. Yet, it is that very unique Frequency that allows him to intuitively push through fear and journey into the subterranean Temple of Uaeshymn to answer a beckoning cry for help.
This story shows us that when we stop trying to “fix” our frequency and start trusting it, we become the guardians of something far more powerful than ourselves.
